Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2024 on Friday, spotlighting 13 key sectors for investment. During the event, Hashmi emphasized Pakistan’s significant opportunities in manufacturing, technology, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure development.
Accompanied by Zhang Yanqing, Deputy Secretary-General of Pingdingshan City, Hashmi acknowledged the contributions of Pakistani organizations at the fair, including the Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA), Green Pakistan Initiative, Dhabeji Economic Zone, Allama Iqbal SEZ, and the National Bank of Pakistan. These organizations play a pivotal role in strengthening business relationships between Pakistan and China.
The embassy is also set to host the Pakistan Investment Conference, titled “Together for a Shared Future,” as part of CIFTIS.
CIFTIS, a leading global platform for trade in services, provides countries with an opportunity to exhibit their service sector strengths and foster international trade relations. This year’s Pakistan Pavilion, operating under a public-private partnership model, aims to not only present investment opportunities but also offer practical insights into setting up and growing businesses in Pakistan.
The pavilion features representatives from industrial park operators and development authorities, offering valuable expertise on infrastructure and investment environments. The conference will include panel discussions, interactive sessions, and B2B meetings, designed to forge new partnerships and explore cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese businesses.
