The National Book Foundation (NBF) of Pakistan proudly represented the nation’s rich literary heritage by setting up the “Pakistan Book Stall” at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025, held from April 26 to May 5. The global event brought together over 1,400 exhibitors and drew millions of book lovers, authors, poets, intellectuals, and cultural enthusiasts from around the world.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, officially inaugurated the stall. Under his guidance, a large number of students and teachers from Pakistani schools across the UAE attended the fair, actively participating in literary activities and showing great enthusiasm for books and culture.
During his visit, Ambassador Tirmizi also launched a special publication showcasing essays on prominent Pakistani personalities from various fields. In his address, he applauded the dedication of Pakistani writers and emphasized the importance of literature in promoting a positive and culturally rich image of Pakistan internationally.
He praised Sarmad Khan, founder of World Books, for his outstanding efforts in organizing Pakistan’s participation in the event and urged Pakistani schools in the UAE to continue supporting such cultural exchanges. The ambassador also encouraged stronger collaboration between NBF and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, particularly in translating and promoting literature in both nations’ languages.
NBF Managing Director Jahangir Kamran expressed gratitude for the recognition given to Pakistani literature, stating that the event highlighted the country’s creative potential on a global platform. He also acknowledged Sarmad Khan’s strategic role in successfully coordinating Pakistan’s presence at the fair.
