Pakistan–Türkiye Alliance Grows Stronger as Speaker Punjab Assembly Meets Turkish Envoy for Enhanced Cooperation

 

The longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye took a significant step forward as Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan held a strategic meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Mehmet Irfan Nezır Oğlu, at the Assembly Secretariat.

During the meeting, both leaders engaged in detailed discussions on enhancing bilateral relations, deepening economic ties, regional developments, and boosting inter-parliamentary collaboration. Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan lauded President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish people for their unwavering support for Pakistan during recent regional tensions. He stated that Türkiye’s solidarity has further cemented the historical and brotherly bond shared by the two nations.

The Speaker emphasized Pakistan’s strong desire to advance its strategic partnership with Türkiye, grounded in centuries-old religious, cultural, and historical connections. He underscored the importance of increasing parliamentary dialogue and people-to-people exchanges, which can serve as powerful tools to enhance mutual understanding and collaboration.

Encouraging Turkish investments in Pakistan, Speaker Ahmad Khan invited Turkish companies to explore opportunities in diverse sectors of Pakistan’s growing economy. He also highlighted the need for sustained cooperation in areas such as trade, youth development, and institutional linkages.

Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Irfan Nezır Oğlu congratulated Pakistan’s leadership and armed forces on their recent achievements and conveyed President Erdoğan’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across all domains. He praised Pakistan’s stability and progress, expressing confidence in the future of Pakistan–Türkiye relations.

The Ambassador also acknowledged the Punjab Assembly’s efforts in promoting youth leadership through the Youth Parliamentarians Forum (YPF). He appreciated Speaker Ahmad Khan’s vision and the active participation of young legislators in shaping Pakistan’s democratic future.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including YPF Board President Amina Hassan, General Secretary Salman Shahid, members Sultan Tariq Bajwa, Usama Fazal Rana, Mansoor Azam, Secretary General of the Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Amir Habib, and Principal Secretary to the Speaker Amad Hussain Bhalli.
