
Pakistan, UAE Pledge Stronger Ties in Higher Education and Workforce Development

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to expand cooperation in higher education and human resource development, reinforcing their robust bilateral relationship, according to a statement from the Pakistani embassy.
The announcement followed a meeting between Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, and UAE Minister of Human Resources, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmanan Al-Awar, held in Abu Dhabi.
During the discussion, Ambassador Tirmizi praised the UAE’s support for its thriving Pakistani expatriate community of more than 1.5 million people, who collectively remit over $5 billion to Pakistan each year. He acknowledged the Gulf nation’s inclusive and enabling environment for foreign workers.
The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing collaborations while exploring new initiatives to benefit students, academic institutions, and professionals from both countries.
“Pakistan remains committed to strengthening institutional linkages and promoting skill development and workforce preparedness,” Ambassador Tirmizi emphasized.
In response, Minister Dr. Al-Awar commended the strong and brotherly ties between the two nations, expressing the UAE’s keen interest in deepening partnerships in mutually beneficial areas.
He also welcomed continued dialogue and coordination between relevant authorities to advance shared goals.
