Pakistan, UAE Reaffirm Commitment to Boost Consular Cooperation at Joint Committee Session
Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening mutual cooperation and safeguarding the welfare of their citizens during the second session held in Islamabad on Today the Pakistan-UAE Joint Consular Committee (JCC).
The session was co-chaired by Shehryar Akbar Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary for the Middle East, and Faisal Eissa Lutfi, Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Focused Discussions on Consular and Welfare Issues
Both sides held in-depth discussions on key consular matters, including:
- Protection of Pakistani nationals residing in the UAE
- Simplification of visa procedures
- Strengthening labour rights
- Enhanced cooperation in migration management
The officials expressed satisfaction over the existing level of collaboration and praised the institutional mechanisms that ensure swift and effective resolution of consular issues.
Shehryar Akbar Khan lauded the UAE government’s continued support for the Pakistani expatriate community, describing them as a vital bridge between the two nations. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing people-to-people ties and ensuring continuous dialogue on consular matters.
The meeting took place in a cordial and constructive environment, underlining the historical and brotherly relationship between the two countries.
