Pakistan Upgrades Embassy in Afghanistan to Ambassadorial Level
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has officially announced the elevation of its diplomatic mission in Afghanistan from chargé d’affaires to ambassadorial level, aiming to enhance bilateral ties and cooperation.
The decision was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar in an official statement from Islamabad. He expressed hope that the move will strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan, particularly in economic, security, and trade domains.
“This step marks significant progress in our bilateral ties and reflects Pakistan’s commitment to fostering deeper engagement with Afghanistan,” Ishaq Dar stated.
Previously, Pakistan’s diplomatic representation in Kabul was managed by a chargé d’affaires. With the upgrade, a full ambassador will now represent Islamabad in Afghanistan, signifying a strategic diplomatic enhancement between the two neighboring nations.
The Deputy Prime Minister further noted that relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are moving in a positive direction, and the upgrade is expected to serve as a catalyst for long-term regional stability and mutual growth.
