Pakistan, US Reaffirm Counterterrorism and Economic Cooperation in High-Level Call

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a phone conversation with US National Security Advisor (NSA) Michael Waltz on March 4, reaffirming the commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in key sectors.
During the call, NSA Waltz conveyed President Donald Trump’s appreciation for Pakistan’s continued efforts in countering terrorism. The recognition highlights the long-standing security collaboration between the two nations in maintaining regional stability.
Senator Ishaq Dar congratulated Waltz on assuming office and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its broad-based relationship with the United States under the Trump administration. He welcomed the US decision to withdraw military equipment left in Afghanistan, emphasizing its role in ensuring regional peace.
Beyond security matters, the discussion covered avenues for enhanced cooperation in IT, energy, and mineral sectors. Both sides acknowledged the importance of ongoing dialogue on trade and investment, aiming to foster economic growth and technological advancement.
