Hong Kong World Super Sixes tournament, Pakistan emerged victorious against their traditional rivals, India, in a decisive match. Played at Mong Kok, the Green Shirts defeated India by six wickets, continuing their winning streak in the tournament.
Set with a target of 120 runs, Pakistan achieved the goal effortlessly in just five overs. Asif Ali was the star of the show, smashing 55 runs before retiring hurt. He was supported by Mohammad Ikhlaq, who scored 40 runs, and captain Faheem Ashraf, who added 22 runs to the total.
India’s bowling lineup failed to make an impact, with none of their bowlers managing to take a wicket during Pakistan’s innings.
In the earlier stages of the match, Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. India finished their six overs with a total of 119 runs, losing two wickets. Captain Robin Uthappa contributed 31 runs, while Kedar Jadhav scored 8. Bhurt Chhapli was the highlight for India, scoring 53 runs before retiring hurt, and Manoj Tiwary remained not out at 17.
Faheem Ashraf’s two wickets were crucial in restricting India’s scoring. This victory comes on the heels of Pakistan’s previous win over the UAE, where they triumphed by 13 runs.
