Pakistan Welcomes Iran-U.S. Dialogue Facilitated by Oman
Pakistan has welcomed the recent diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States, which took place on Saturday in Muscat, Oman, under the auspices of Omani mediation.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office Spokesperson expressed Islamabad’s firm support for peaceful dialogue as a cornerstone of regional and global stability.
“Pakistan believes that diplomacy and constructive dialogue are vital tools for promoting peace and stability in the region,” the spokesperson said. “We view this engagement as a positive step toward resolving longstanding differences through mutual respect and negotiation.”
A Path Toward Regional Stability
The spokesperson further stated that Islamabad remains hopeful that continued dialogue between Tehran and Washington will help defuse tensions, reduce the risk of conflict, and open avenues for broader cooperation in the region.
“We encourage both parties to remain committed to this diplomatic path and continue efforts toward meaningful resolution,” the statement added.
Oman’s Role Acknowledged
Pakistan also praised the Sultanate of Oman for its constructive diplomatic role in facilitating the talks.
“We commend Oman’s valuable efforts in hosting and supporting these discussions,” the spokesperson noted, highlighting Muscat’s growing role as a neutral platform for conflict resolution.
The statement reflects Pakistan’s long-standing policy of advocating peaceful resolution of international disputes and reinforces its support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at ensuring security and cooperation in the Middle East.
