Pakistani cueist Muhammad Asif has praised the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) for their unwavering support, following his victory at the IBSF Men’s World Snooker Championship 2024. Asif defeated Iran’s Ali Gharahgozlou 5-3 in a thrilling final, claiming his third World Championship title.
Asif’s victory was a testament to his skill and strategy, as he triumphed in a hard-fought contest with scores of 70-25, 7-87(84), 82(56)-8, 106(106)-08, 82-12, 43-91(58), 0-118, and 93(80)-4. This victory secures his place among the world’s top snooker players.
In an interview with APP, Asif expressed his gratitude to Alamgir Anwar Sheikh, co-chairman of PBSA, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), and other association officials for their continuous motivation and support. He attributed his success to consistent hard work, training, and the prayers of the Pakistani nation.
Looking ahead, Asif shared his optimism for future challenges and expressed his determination to bring more titles to Pakistan. Reflecting on the final, Asif acknowledged his opponent’s skill but credited his own calm and focus for helping him secure the win.
