Pakistan Women’s Blind Cricket Team Departs for Historic Tour of Australia
Pakistan Women’s Blind Cricket Team embarked on its first-ever international tour, heading to Australia for a historic bilateral series set to take place from April 18 to 26.
The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) hosted a special send-off ceremony in Islamabad to honor the trailblazing athletes. The event was attended by PBCC officials, families of the players, and supporters who gathered to show their admiration and encouragement for the team.
Speaking at the ceremony, PBCC Chairman highlighted the significance of the occasion.
“Today marks a historic milestone not just for blind cricket, but for women’s sports in Pakistan,” he said.
The Chairman praised the players for their relentless hard work and determination, despite the many challenges they faced.
“These athletes have shown incredible strength and commitment. I have no doubt that they will make the nation proud in Australia and serve as role models for countless others across the country,” he added.
The tour is part of the PBCC’s broader efforts to empower women with visual impairments through sport and provide international exposure to athletes who have demonstrated exceptional skill and perseverance.
The series in Australia is expected to not only boost confidence and experience for the team but also strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global blind cricket community.
