Pakistani Ambassador Engages Youth Delegates at Harvard Model UN in Dubai
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, interacted with 82 young participants from Pakistan during the Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) conference in Dubai. The event drew over 800 delegates from around the globe, fostering dialogue and leadership among the youth on pressing global issues.
Addressing the Pakistani delegation, Ambassador Tirmizi commended their enthusiasm and participation in a prestigious forum like HMUN. “Your engagement here highlights the immense potential and talent of Pakistan’s youth on the global stage,” he said, emphasizing the importance of diplomacy, critical thinking, and collaboration in addressing international challenges.
The ambassador also stressed the need for young Pakistanis to embrace global citizenship while staying rooted in their cultural heritage. He encouraged the delegates to use platforms like HMUN to learn, network, and showcase Pakistan’s rich traditions and innovative ideas.
In addition to his interaction with the youth, Ambassador Tirmizi met with prominent figures, including Mian Zafar Iqbal, CEO of Faisalabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry, and Muhammad Umer Sharfudin. The discussions centered around enhancing trade opportunities between Pakistan and the UAE, leveraging the diaspora’s contributions, and fostering entrepreneurship.
Ms. Kaleena Roeva, Secretary-General of the HMUN, and Ms. Patil Djerdjerian, Director-General of the conference, also met with the ambassador. They appreciated the participation of young Pakistanis and expressed interest in deepening collaboration with Pakistani institutions to promote educational exchanges and leadership initiatives.
The event served as a testament to Pakistan’s vibrant youth and its growing role in international forums, with a focus on building bridges through dialogue and mutual understanding.
