Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi Visits Taihe Institute, discusses ways to fortify iron brotherhood
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, visited the Taihe Institute for an in-depth exchange with Chairman Peng Binge and President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, Wu Hailong. Discussions centered on enhancing Pakistan-China strategic relations in the “New Era” and exploring avenues to further solidify the “iron brotherhood” between the two nations.
Ambassador Hashmi also engaged in an open discussion with senior research fellows, emphasizing the significance of the enduring Pak-China partnership and ways to expand cooperation in diplomacy, trade, and cultural exchange. Senior diplomats from the Pakistan Embassy and Taihe Institute officials attended the session.
Expanding Cultural and Economic Collaboration
During his visit, the ambassador met Xie Peng, the producer of Batie Girl, the first-ever Pakistan-China feature film. The discussions focused on leveraging cinema as a powerful medium to strengthen public appreciation of the historic ties between the two countries.
Separately, Ambassador Hashmi welcomed Ms. Amanda Cheng, Country Head of Habib Bank China, along with her team at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing. Cheng briefed him on HBL China’s 2024 performance and its role in facilitating financial cooperation between Pakistan and China. The meeting also explored strategies to enhance economic ties, with a focus on investment-led B2B matchmaking roadshows in priority sectors.
Pakistan and China continue to deepen their multi-faceted relationship, with diplomatic, economic, and cultural initiatives reinforcing their time-tested friendship.
