Pakistani Athlete Huraira Wins Bronze at International Taekwondo Championship
Pakistani taekwondo athlete Syed Abu Huraira Shah has secured a bronze medal in the senior category at the prestigious International Taekwondo Championship held in France on Sunday.
The tournament witnessed fierce competition, with over 2,000 athletes from more than 20 countries participating. At just 19 years old, Huraira has demonstrated remarkable dedication to martial arts, having represented Pakistan in over six international tournaments.
Huraira credited his success to his coach, Master Syed Rehman Shah, who played a vital role in guiding the Pakistani contingent. This latest accomplishment adds to his growing list of achievements, including a gold medal victory in Malaysia in August 2024, further establishing him as one of Pakistan’s rising taekwondo stars.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s national team also secured two bronze medals at the 11th Seong Nam Open International Taekwondo Championship 2024, reinforcing the country’s increasing prominence in global martial arts competitions.
Speaking to APP Online, Huraira expressed his gratitude towards Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab for his unwavering support in consecutive tournaments.
“I am deeply thankful to Mayor Karachi for his encouragement, which has been instrumental in my journey. I continuing to efforts make Pakistan proud on the international stage,” said Huraira.
The young athlete also announced plans to participate in a two-day training camp in Germany and Switzerland before returning to Pakistan on February 19. His dedication and perseverance continue to inspire aspiring martial artists across the country.
