Riyadh – The Pakistani embassy in Riyadh has partnered with the Children with Disabilities Association (CDA) to provide clinical evaluation and rehabilitation services for special needs children at a 60% discounted rate.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, and CDA Board Chairman Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz signed the cooperation agreement in Riyadh on June 24. Under the agreement, Pakistani children under the age of 14 can access CDA services at a 60% discount for one year, with the possibility of extension through mutual consent.

“This is a longstanding demand of our community that has now been fulfilled,” Ambassador Farooq said, highlighting the embassy’s commitment to serving the needs of the Pakistani diaspora.

Families seeking to use the service must submit a written request to the embassy including their child’s full name, age, and passport details. The embassy will then refer eligible children to CDA centers for enrollment.

The CDA, founded in 1982, is one of the region’s largest rehabilitation institutions, with 11 branches serving children with disabilities from birth to age 12, supported by nearly 5,000 community members.

Ambassador Farooq thanked Prince Sultan for facilitating the partnership, stressing that this cooperation would strengthen the welfare of Pakistan’s expatriate community in the Kingdom, which numbers over 2.5 million and represents the top source of remittances to Pakistan.

The agreement also includes annual reporting on services delivered, and each party will appoint a dedicated coordinator to ensure smooth execution of the initiative. Costs after the applied discount will be covered by the beneficiaries’ guardians.

“This is a critical step to address the immediate challenges faced by our community and build confidence in our mission’s commitment to public service,” the ambassador said.

According to officials, the CDA will begin delivering services under this agreement immediately, providing vital rehabilitative care and assessments to children in need.
