
Pakistani Media, Think Tank Delegation Wraps Up Insightful 12-Day Visit to China

ISLAMABAD — A 16-member high-level Pakistani delegation, comprising leading media professionals and think tank representatives, has successfully concluded a 12-day official visit to China aimed at strengthening bilateral media collaboration and strategic communication.
The visit, organized by the State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China, provided a dynamic platform for deepening mutual understanding and exploring avenues for joint initiatives.
During their extensive program, delegates engaged with Chinese government officials, major media institutions, policy experts, and academic circles to discuss critical areas including combating misinformation, expanding cultural exchanges, and building stronger people-to-people ties.
Members of the delegation praised China’s rapid socio-economic development, rural revitalization, innovation, and inclusive growth. They highlighted the visible improvements in quality of life across the country, commending the people-centric policies and governance model of President Xi Jinping. The delegation also appreciated strategic initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), calling them visionary and sustainable.
“This visit has been an eye-opener — the level of technological advancement, the warmth of the Chinese people, and the government’s commitment to public welfare is truly remarkable,” said one participant.
The delegation expressed optimism that the visit would lay the groundwork for enhanced cooperation in journalism, academia, policy dialogue, and cultural exchange between Pakistan and China.
In Beijing, the group visited prominent sites including the China Huaneng Clean Energy Technology Research Institute, the Central Axis Exhibition Hall, and the BAIC Xiangjie Super Factory. They also attended a media and think tank symposium hosted by the China International Communications Group (CICG).
In Chongqing, their engagements included visits to Zaisheng Technology Co. Ltd., the Jian’ai Eco Smart Gallery, and the Chongqing Inland International Logistics Hub. They also toured the Ciqikou Ancient City and cultural heritage sites, in addition to meeting officials from the Western China International Communication Organization and the BRI Journalists’ Station.
In Kashghar (Kashi), the delegation explored the historic East Gate of Kashi Ancient City, local Uygur markets, the Kashi Pilot Free Trade Zone, and the Kashi Prefecture Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They also engaged with local communities at Huayuan Road Community in Yuepuhu County and attended the 2nd Kashi Cup International Youth Football Invitational Tournament.
Their final stops included Urumqi, where they visited the Xinjiang Exhibition on Counterterrorism and De-radicalization, the International Grand Bazaar, and the China-Eurasia Commodity and Trade Expo 2025.
Notable members of the delegation included Naveed Hussain (Chief Editor, Express Tribune), Zamir Awan (Founder, Global Silk Road Research Alliance), Qadri Nadeem (Chief Editor, The Nation), and other senior journalists, academics, and policy analysts.
The visit was coordinated by Yang Ruirui of the State Council Information Office of China, Yang Taofei from the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, and Qiu Yining from the China International Communications Group, with interpreters Zou Bin and Wang Bingxia facilitating smooth communication throughout the program.
This initiative reaffirmed the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China friendship, rooted in mutual respect, shared vision, and robust collaboration.
