Pakistani Pilgrims Present Traditional Chaddar at Hazrat Khwaja Chishti’s Shrine
A delegation of 89 Pakistani pilgrims, led by Second Secretary Tariq Masroof from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, paid homage at the Ajmer Sharif, India, shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Syed Moinuddin Hasan Chishti (RA) The visit was part of the 813th annual Urs celebrations of the revered Sufi saint, held from January 7 to January 9.
In a heartfelt gesture, the delegation presented a traditional *Chaddar* at the shrine on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan.
The group was warmly greeted by members of the Anjuman Moinia Fakhria Chishtia Khuddam Khwaja Sahib upon their arrival at the Dargah. The pilgrims participated in rituals marking the Urs, celebrating the life and teachings of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA), known for his universal message of love and harmony.
This visit was facilitated under the 1974 India-Pakistan Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, which allows pilgrims from both countries to travel for religious purposes.
The Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, a figure celebrated globally for his spiritual wisdom and inclusivity, continues to draw devotees from around the world. The participation of Pakistani pilgrims underscores the enduring spiritual and cultural connection shared by the two nations.
