Tianjin, China –Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian on the sidelines of the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, reaffirming their commitment to deepen Pakistan–Iran relations across political, economic, and security domains.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and senior cabinet members, reflecting Pakistan’s strong diplomatic focus on Iran.
PM Shehbaz emphasized the historic, cultural, and religious bonds that unite both nations, calling President Peshkeshian’s recent visit to Pakistan a “turning point” welcomed warmly by the people of Pakistan.
