Pakistani PM, President Erdogan Pledge Stronger Ties at ECO Summit

KHANKENDI — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday on the sidelines of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Khankendi, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and reviewing regional developments.

In a detailed discussion, both leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and exchanged views on pressing regional developments. They underlined the importance of achieving tangible progress across vital sectors, including trade, defense, energy, connectivity, and investment.

To advance these goals, the two countries agreed to facilitate high-level exchanges in the coming months to ensure swift implementation of the understandings reached during the meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to working in close partnership with Turkiye to achieve shared objectives of peace, stability, and sustainable development throughout the region.
