Pakistani President Emphasizes Boosting Trade and Cultural Ties with Czech Republic and Ukraine

ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday called for expanding Pakistan’s bilateral cooperation with the Czech Republic and Ukraine, focusing on enhancing trade, investment, and cultural engagement.

The statement came as Pakistan’s newly appointed ambassadors-designate to both countries met with the President in Islamabad.

During his meeting with Shahryar Akbar Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to the Czech Republic, President Zardari said that Prague was a vital partner for Islamabad in Europe.

He emphasized the importance of promoting mutual trade, attracting investment, and fostering people-to-people ties. The President also called for increased exchanges of cultural delegations and parliamentary visits to strengthen diplomatic and public relations.

“Czech Republic holds strategic significance in Europe, and there is vast potential for deeper economic cooperation,” President Zardari said.

In a separate discussion with Major General (R) Kunwar Adnan Ahmed Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Ukraine, the President reiterated the country’s desire to further develop its relationship with Kyiv.

President Zardari encouraged the envoy to actively pursue enhanced economic collaboration and to represent Pakistan’s interests by promoting mutual respect and shared development goals.

“We look forward to broadening our diplomatic and economic engagement with Ukraine in ways that benefit both nations,” he stated.
