
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Returns After Attending ECO Summit in Azerbaijan

SHUSHA — Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday concluded his two-day official visit to Azerbaijan and returned to Pakistan after participating in the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit held in Khankendi.
At Fuzuli International Airport, the Prime Minister and his delegation were given a warm farewell by Azerbaijani Minister of Education and Science Emin Amrullayev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin, as well as other senior government and diplomatic officials.
During the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz articulated Pakistan’s perspective on key regional and global challenges, stressing the urgent need to boost regional connectivity, advance trade and investment, and promote sustainable peace and development across ECO member states.
A major highlight of the visit was the signing of a $2 billion investment agreement between Pakistan and Azerbaijan to strengthen Pakistan’s economic sector, marking a milestone in bilateral cooperation.
The Prime Minister also held separate meetings with the presidents of Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan, discussing ways to deepen bilateral relations, enhance trade, and promote peace and stability in the broader region.
