Pakistan’s Ambassador Presents Credentials to President Macron for Accreditation to Andorra

Dr. Zahoor Ahmed, Pakistan’s Ambassador in Madrid, has officially presented his credentials as the country’s ambassador concurrently accredited to Andorra to President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.

In a unique arrangement, Andorra is co-principality, meaning it has two Heads of State: the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell. As part of this protocol, ambassadors accredited to Andorra must present credentials to both leaders.

During the meeting, President Macron highlighted Andorra’s distinctive dual leadership structure and praised the country’s appeal, noting his visits to all seven parishes. He recognized Andorra’s leadership in mountain tourism and financial services.

While presenting his credentials, Ambassador Ahmed congratulated President Macron on the successful hosting of the Paris Olympics. He conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister and expressed a strong desire to enhance relations with Andorra, particularly in areas such as mountain tourism, climate change, multilateral forums, education, and financial services.

President Macron welcomed these initiatives and emphasized the critical importance of cooperation in tackling climate change.
