Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Visits RCCI
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Tuesday. During his visit, he met with the Chamber’s leadership and discussed various opportunities to enhance trade between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
In his address, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of adapting to the changing global economic landscape. He highlighted the growing demand for Pakistani products in Saudi Arabia and shared that over 90 Pakistani IT companies are already successfully operating in the kingdom. He also identified sectors like food, rice, meat, pharma, plastic shoes, and seafood as having significant growth potential in Saudi Arabia.
Ambassador Farooq informed the audience that a previous ban on seafood exports to Saudi Arabia had been lifted, thanks to efforts by the Pakistani government. He encouraged Pakistani businesses to plan trade exhibitions in Saudi Arabia well in advance—at least five to six months ahead—to ensure successful participation. He assured the businesses of the Embassy’s full support in organizing such events.
The Ambassador also pointed out that some Pakistani companies are already conducting annual business worth $30 to $35 million in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the potential for other companies to tap into these lucrative markets.
Upon arrival at the Chamber, Ambassador Farooq was warmly welcomed by RCCI President Usman Shaukat and other senior members of the Chamber. The event was attended by representatives from various sectors of the business community, who expressed their interest in expanding trade ties with Saudi Arabia.
