
Pakistan’s Envoy Meets Egypt’s Grand Mufti to Boost Religious Cooperation

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, held a meeting with Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, in Cairo on Sunday to enhance bilateral cooperation in religious education and promote interfaith harmony.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between Pakistan and Egypt in the field of religious education. They agreed to deepen academic exchanges between Islamic institutions to promote authentic religious teachings and understanding.
Ambassador Shouket and the Grand Mufti also discussed strategies to combat hate speech and promote peaceful coexistence among diverse religious communities. They acknowledged the shared responsibility of Muslim nations in addressing the misuse of religion for inciting violence and division.
Reaffirming the commitment to Muslim unity, the two leaders stressed the need for continued dialogue between scholars of both countries. They agreed that sustained religious diplomacy can play a vital role in fostering harmony within the Muslim Ummah and with other faith communities.
