Indonesian Federal Minister of Trade, H. Zulkifli Hasan, has emphasized that the involvement of Pakistan’s business community in the 39th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) will strengthen the economic and trade relationship between Pakistan and Indonesia. Speaking on the sidelines of the expo in BSD City, Jakarta, on Friday, the minister welcomed the 55-member Pakistani business delegation, which represents various sectors.
Minister Hasan lauded the efforts of the Pakistani delegation, noting that their presence would contribute to the enhancement of future trade and economic ties between the two nations. TEI 2024, themed *“Build Strong Connection with The Best of Indonesia,”* is expected to feature over 1,000 exhibitors and attract 30,000 visitors, underscoring the event’s significance in fostering international business cooperation.
He highlighted the importance of increasing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Indonesia, both key trading partners. He urged the business communities of both countries to actively engage in efforts to boost trade, with the Indonesian government offering full support. Hasan emphasized that Indonesia offers a favorable business environment with numerous opportunities for Pakistani entrepreneurs, particularly given Indonesia’s status as the largest economy in the ASEAN region.
TEI 2024 aims to gather government agencies, businesses, and stakeholders to ensure its success, with a focus on facilitating trade and investment transactions. The event will feature zones dedicated to food, beverages, agriculture, manufactured products, home living, fashion, and services. Complementary activities, including business matching, international seminars, and dialogues with foreign ambassadors, will further enhance the expo’s impact.
Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) will also be held concurrently with TEI, showcasing fashion products, cosmetics, and accessories, providing an additional platform for collaboration.
The Director-General of National Export Development, Didi Sumedi, expressed optimism about TEI 2024’s potential to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global economy and foster greater cooperation with partner countries. He added that the expo would serve as a strategic platform for Indonesian businesses to expand into global markets and contribute to national economic recovery through increased exports.
