Pakistan’s success hinges on supporting existing investors.

Former Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Azfar Ahsan highlighted the importance of focusing on current investors to create a sustainable investment environment in Pakistan. Speaking on the country’s investment landscape, Ahsan called for a comprehensive national strategy to attract both local and foreign investments.

He noted that Pakistan must shift from reactive policies to proactive measures, suggesting reforms in infrastructure, governance, and security as essential steps. Ahsan emphasized that consistent policy frameworks, regardless of political shifts, would strengthen investor confidence and foster economic stability. He also mentioned the potential for joint ventures in key sectors like technology, agriculture, and manufacturing.

ISSI Director General Sohail Mahmood highlighted Pakistan’s strategic location and demographic advantages but acknowledged hurdles like regulatory complexities and security perceptions. He stressed the need for collaboration among stakeholders to enhance investor confidence.

The event saw attendance from industry leaders, academics, and members of civil society, who discussed ways to make Pakistan a more attractive destination for investment.
