PM India Modi Arrives in Jeddah for high-level State Visit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Jeddah on Tuesday for a high-level state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aiming to advance strategic ties between the two nations.

Upon his arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Prime Minister Modi was received by Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, along with Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi, and other senior Saudi officials.

The visit highlights the deep-rooted bilateral relationship between India and Saudi Arabia, which has evolved over more than 75 years into a multifaceted strategic partnership covering key sectors such as politics, economy, clean energy, investment, and technology.

Strengthening Diplomatic and Strategic Ties

This visit builds on a series of past high-level engagements between the two countries. In 2016, then-Crown Prince King Salman bin Abdulaziz hosted Modi in Riyadh, resulting in major cooperation agreements. Subsequent meetings between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Modi at G20 Summits in China (2016), Argentina (2018), and Japan (2019) further strengthened ties.

In 2019, the two nations formed the Saudi-India Strategic Partnership Council, co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed and Prime Minister Modi. This council aligns Saudi Vision 2030 with India’s flagship programs such as Make in India, Digital India, Smart Cities, and Clean India.

The Crown Prince’s visit to India in September 2023 reaffirmed the shared commitment to regional stability and deeper collaboration in energy, trade, and technological advancement.

A Strategic Global Alliance

Prime Minister Modi’s latest visit reflects the mutual political trust and growing economic interdependence between India and Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom’s increasing global influence and investment attractiveness make it a key partner for India in shaping the regional and global future.
