
PM Shahbaz Sharif Participates in 11th D-8 Summit in Cairo

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif joined global leaders in Cairo on Thursday to attend the 11th Developing-8 (D-8) Summit, emphasizing the importance of youth empowerment and small enterprise development.
Upon arrival at the New Presidential Palace, the summit’s venue, PM Shehbaz was greeted warmly by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The Prime Minister inscribed his thoughts in the visitor’s book, interacted with fellow leaders, and participated in a group photograph ahead of the session’s formal commencement.
The summit, themed “Investing in Youth and Supporting SMEs: Shaping Tomorrow’s Economy,” highlights critical global priorities for fostering economic growth and sustainability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to underscore the vital role of youth engagement and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in creating a resilient economy. His address will focus on strategies for job creation, innovation, and fostering local entrepreneurship, aiming for inclusive and sustainable development across D-8 member nations.
The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, established in 1997, consists of eight developing countries: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey. The forum aims to enhance economic ties and promote cooperation among its members.
