
PM Shehbaz Meets Iran’s Supreme Leader | Strengthening Pakistan-Iran Ties

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in Tehran on Monday, where the two leaders discussed vital matters of bilateral ties, regional peace, and recent geopolitical developments.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by a senior delegation, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
Strengthening Muslim Unity and Strategic Ties
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep admiration for the Supreme Leader, calling him a source of strength and guidance for the Muslim world.
“Your Eminence is a symbol of wisdom and unity for the Muslim Ummah. Pakistan holds your leadership in the highest regard,” the Prime Minister noted.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation with Iran, especially in light of shared challenges and opportunities in the region.
Regional Security and India’s Aggression
Shehbaz Sharif updated the Supreme Leader on the recent conflict with India, condemning New Delhi’s aggressive actions and appreciating Iran’s support during the crisis.
“Iran’s solidarity during a critical moment reflects the strength of our brotherly relationship. We believe in peaceful coexistence, but will always defend our sovereignty,” he said.
Support for Diplomatic Engagements
The Prime Minister also commended Iran’s efforts in nuclear negotiations with the United States, describing diplomacy as the best path toward lasting regional stability.
“Diplomatic solutions are essential for regional peace and security. Pakistan supports Iran’s constructive engagement with the global community,” he added.
Cultural Appreciation and Invitation
The Supreme Leader acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the region and praised Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for deeper ties. He also appreciated Iran’s cultural connection with Allama Iqbal, the revered poet of the East.
In closing, Shehbaz Sharif invited Ayatollah Khamenei to visit Pakistan, expressing hope for continued collaboration and growth in bilateral ties.
