ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held telephonic conversations with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye and President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran** to discuss the escalating regional tensions following Israel’s unprovoked military actions against Iran.
In a post on social media platform X, the prime minister described the talks as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote regional stability and collective action.
> “Spoke with my dear brother President Erdogan this evening on the grave regional situation following Israel’s unprovoked aggression against Iran,” PM Sharif stated.
He said both leaders agreed that Israel’s actions constitute a blatant breach of international law and pose a serious threat to regional peace and security. They also strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing brutality against the Palestinian people.
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and multilateral diplomacy, particularly through global institutions like the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He also congratulated President Erdogan on being honored by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum for his leadership.
In a separate message, Prime Minister Sharif stated that he had spoken with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to express Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Iran amid what he described as an unjustified Israeli assault.
The prime minister also expressed gratitude to President Pezeshkian for appreciating Pakistan’s clear and principled stance at the United Nations Security Council in condemning Israeli aggression against Iran, Palestine, and others in the region.
Both conversations underscored the need for collective action by the Muslim world. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that the international community—and particularly the Ummah—must unite to put an end to these serious violations.
