PM Shehbaz Sharif Ends Landmark Visit to Tajikistan with Strong Bilateral Gains

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif successfully wrapped up his two-day official visit to Tajikistan on Friday, departing from Dushanbe after a series of high-level engagements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
He was seen off at Dushanbe International Airport by Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Hokim Kholiqzoda. Accompanying the Prime Minister were Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.
During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. The two leaders explored opportunities to expand collaboration in multiple sectors, including trade, energy, infrastructure development, and regional security.
Prime Minister Sharif thanked the Tajik leadership for its continuous support for Pakistan, particularly during recent tensions in the South Asian region. He emphasized the importance of deepening diplomatic and economic ties between Islamabad and Dushanbe.
In addition to diplomatic talks, Prime Minister Sharif addressed an international summit on glacier preservation. In his speech, he highlighted the severe effects of climate change in Pakistan, including the rapid melting of glaciers, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to environmental sustainability and international climate cooperation.
