Poland Announce to Train 100,000 Military Volunteers by 2027
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced a new initiative aimed at training 100,000 military volunteers annually by 2027, as part of the country’s efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities.
The voluntary training program will begin in 2026, allowing interested individuals to participate in military exercises and gain strategic skills, including professional driving licenses for heavy vehicles. The initiative aims to expand Poland’s military reserves, complementing the professional army and Territorial Defense Force.
The move comes amid heightened security concerns following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Poland, a key NATO member, currently allocates the highest percentage of GDP to defense among alliance nations.
Tusk emphasized that government officials would also have the opportunity to participate in the training program, further reinforcing national preparedness.
