
President, PM Review Pakistan’s Political and Security Situation

ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad on Tuesday to review Pakistan’s political, security, and economic situation, underscoring their shared commitment to national stability and development.
During their discussions at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the two leaders focused on the country’s overall law and order situation, with special attention to ongoing counterterrorism efforts and measures to strengthen internal security.
The prime minister briefed the president on the government’s initiatives aimed at revitalizing the economy. He highlighted recent reforms designed to improve macroeconomic indicators, encourage investment, and reduce inflationary pressures.
Both leaders reaffirmed their determination to work closely to ensure sustained economic development, poverty reduction, and the creation of new employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan.
Law and order remained a key topic in the meeting as the country continues to face security challenges. The president and prime minister reviewed the progress of ongoing operations against terrorist networks and stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among security agencies.
They expressed solidarity with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies for their sacrifices in restoring peace and stability across the country.
Several senior cabinet members and advisors attended the meeting, reflecting its importance in aligning government policy and strategy.
Among those present were Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Law and Justice Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah.
The leadership emphasized maintaining open channels of communication among all stakeholders to promote political harmony and national unity in the face of internal and external challenges.
