President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Lisbon to offer his condolences to Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini on the passing of his father, Prince Karim Aga Khan. The visit highlights Pakistan’s recognition of the late Aga Khan’s remarkable contributions to global philanthropy and development.

Speaking on the occasion, President Zardari expressed deep sorrow and extended sympathies on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan. He described Prince Karim Aga Khan as a visionary leader whose humanitarian efforts left an indelible mark on Pakistan’s progress.

“Prince Karim Aga Khan was a true friend of Pakistan, a guiding force in social development, and a champion of education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation,” said President Zardari. “His legacy of service and dedication to uplifting communities will be remembered for generations.”

The President noted that he was on an official visit to China when he received the news of the Aga Khan’s passing. Despite his engagements, he prioritized the visit to Lisbon to pay homage to the late leader’s lifelong dedication to humanitarian causes.

“His contributions extended beyond borders, promoting interfaith harmony, education, and sustainable development worldwide. The institutions he established and the lives he transformed are a testament to his enduring impact,” he added.

President Zardari also expressed hope that Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini would continue his father’s mission of philanthropy and service to humanity, ensuring that his vision for a better world remains alive.
