ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to deliberate on the rapidly evolving security situation in the Middle East.

The discussion came in the wake of heightened regional tensions, particularly following recent developments involving Iran and Israel. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored Pakistan’s unwavering support for immediate de-escalation and emphasized that all parties must resolve disputes through peaceful dialogue and adherence to international law, including the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter.

The premier reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and recalled the Kingdom’s steadfast support to Pakistan, especially during times of regional and bilateral tensions, including its diplomatic backing during the standoff with India.

Highlighting Pakistan’s readiness for constructive engagement, the prime minister reiterated Islamabad’s willingness to initiate meaningful dialogue with India on all critical issues — including Jammu and Kashmir, cross-border water disputes, trade, and terrorism — with a view toward long-term peace and regional stability.

He also commended Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s leadership in navigating the region through complex diplomatic challenges, lauding his efforts to promote peace as emblematic of Saudi Arabia’s role as a leader of the Muslim Ummah and a respected force for stability on the global stage.

In turn, the Saudi Crown Prince expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s solidarity and acknowledged the country’s positive contributions to diplomatic efforts in the region. He emphasized the Kingdom’s full commitment to supporting initiatives that foster enduring peace and stability in the Middle East.

The conversation was marked by warmth and mutual respect, with Prime Minister Shehbaz extending his best wishes to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
