
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commends China’s Role in IMF Talks

In a ceremony celebrating the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted China’s significant support during the ongoing IMF negotiations. Speaking in Islamabad, he expressed his warm wishes to the Chinese leadership and people, describing the bilateral friendship as “higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the seas.”
Sharif underscored the importance of CPEC Phase 2, stating it would enhance business-to-business connections between Pakistan and China and bolster cooperation in various sectors, including IT and mining.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for China’s positions on regional issues, including matters related to Hong Kong and Taiwan. He praised China’s ongoing contributions to regional and global peace.
The Chinese ambassador noted that President Xi Jinping is steering the nation towards a new era of social and economic development, marking a pivotal moment in China’s progress.
