Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Turkiye on Tuesday for Strategic Talks
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Ankara, Turkiye, on Tuesday for a high-level official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and discussing key regional developments.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold in-depth talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The leaders are expected to review ongoing cooperation, explore new avenues for partnership, and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Pakistan and Turkiye enjoy a longstanding relationship marked by strategic partnership and close brotherly ties. Regular high-level interactions between the two countries underscore their shared vision and mutual trust.
The two nations also cooperate under the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC)—an institutional platform for dialogue on a broad range of bilateral issues. The 7th session of HLSCC was last held in Islamabad on February 12–13, 2025, co-chaired by President Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The upcoming visit is expected to reinforce the momentum generated by the HLSCC and reaffirm both countries’ commitment to enhancing collaboration in trade, defense, investment, culture, and education.
This visit comes at a crucial time when both Pakistan and Turkiye continue to play significant roles in regional stability, economic cooperation, and diplomatic engagement across the Muslim world.
