Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar Yield $3 Billion in Investments and IT Partnership

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif returned from his diplomatic tour to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, calling the visits “fruitful” and “transformative.” Briefing the cabinet on Monday, he outlined new economic partnerships focused on key areas like energy, IT, and resource development.

A major highlight was Qatar’s commitment of $3 billion in investments in Pakistan, with a high-level delegation from the Qatar Investment Authority expected to visit soon. The Qatari Amir also expressed plans to establish an IT park in Pakistan, marking a significant step for the local tech sector.

In Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasized the Kingdom’s need for skilled IT professionals, encouraging Pakistan to send qualified experts to support their digital transformation initiatives.

Furthering Pakistan’s regional ties, PM Shahbaz also shared the outcome of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit. Agreements signed during the visit set a $2 billion investment target, promising growth across diverse industries.
