The Prophet’s Mosque in Medina has introduced new measures to improve the flow of visitors and enhance convenience, including color-coded pathways and a dedicated childcare center.
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has implemented a color-coding system for the mosque’s entry and exit routes. This initiative is designed to guide worshippers more efficiently, ensuring smoother navigation within the mosque and helping international visitors easily find their way to the correct exit. The color-coded system is expected to reduce confusion and improve the overall experience for those attending prayers.
Additionally, a new childcare center has been set up within the mosque to cater to families. The center operates from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., staffed with trained professionals who look after children while their parents can focus on their prayers. This service is aimed at providing greater peace of mind and allowing worshippers to fully engage in their spiritual practices.
These updates come as the mosque continues to see a significant rise in visitors. Over 280 million people prayed at the Prophet’s Mosque last year, and according to recent data, more than 10 million Muslims have already visited this year—an increase of 26% compared to last year.
