Protests Erupt in Geneva Against Indian Policies in Kashmir

In a powerful show of solidarity, a significant number of Kashmiris gathered in Geneva to protest against the Indian government’s treatment of the region.

Demonstrators, hailing from various European countries, convened outside the United Nations office, raising their voices against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration and its policies perceived as hostile to Kashmiris. The air was filled with chants of “Modi must go” and “Down with India.”

Carrying signs and portraits of martyrs, the protesters demanded the right to self-determination for Kashmiris, echoing calls for freedom. They also sought the immediate release of detained leaders from the Kashmiri resistance.

Speakers at the event included leaders from the Kashmiri diaspora in Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, the UK, and Switzerland. They urged the UN Human Rights Commission to address the grave human rights violations reported in occupied Kashmir, calling for urgent international intervention.
