Report by Syed Farzand Ali

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has vowed to foil all conspiracies against Pakistan, declaring that efforts to destabilize the country will fail.

Speaking Media Talk at Lahore Railway Station on Friday, alongside CEO Railways Amir Aziz Baloch and DS Railways Muhammad Hanif Gul, Abbasi condemned the recent attack on Jaffer Express, calling it an attempt to spread unrest. He credited Pakistan Army and FC personnel for their swift action in preventing a major tragedy, stating that 427 passengers, including eight suicide bombers, were onboard during the attack.

Abbasi accused India and Afghanistan of funding terrorism to create instability in Pakistan but assured that security forces, including CTD and NACTA, remain fully vigilant. He reiterated that counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan are ongoing with full intensity.

The minister also emphasized Pakistan Railways’ ongoing restructuring, promising strict accountability for train delays and faster restoration of faulty coaches. Regarding the Quetta railway track, he confirmed that repair work is underway, and operations will resume soon.

On administrative concerns, he stated that the government is prioritizing pension payments and will soon hold a meeting with the CEO Railways to resolve outstanding issues. Additionally, the outsourcing of Lahore Railway Station is under consideration to improve passenger facilities.

Abbasi praised media contributions in shaping the national narrative and assured that the people, armed forces, and government stand united against external threats. He highlighted economic stability and rising foreign exchange reserves as indicators of the country’s resilience.

Earlier, the minister inspected passenger facilities at Lahore Railway Station, visiting the Railway Police Help Center and Family Waiting Room, and directed officials to enhance services.
