Ramadan Moon Not Sighted in Pakistan, First Fast on March 2
Report By Furqan Mughal
The Ramadan moon has not been sighted anywhere in Pakistan, meaning that the first fast of Ramadan 1446 Hijri will be observed on Sunday, March 2.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, was held at the Auqaf Hall in Peshawar to determine the moon sighting. The meeting was attended by committee members, meteorological experts, representatives from SUPARCO, and other relevant authorities.
Nationwide Cloud Cover Prevents Moon Sighting
Speaking at a press conference, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad confirmed that the weather remained cloudy across the country, and no credible moon sighting reports were received from any location in Pakistan.
Official Decision on Ramadan Start Date
After thorough consultation and unanimous agreement, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee officially announced that the first day of Ramadan 1446 Hijri will fall on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
