Pakistan Secures First Victory in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024

Pakistan clinched its first win in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy during their third match of the tournament.

According to media reports, Pakistan defeated Japan 2-1 in a match played in Hohhot, China. Nadeem Ahmed gave Pakistan an early lead with a goal in the first quarter, but Japan leveled the match in the second quarter.

However, in the 10th minute of the second quarter, Sufiyan Khan scored to restore Pakistan’s lead, which they maintained until the final whistle.

Before this match, Pakistan had drawn both of their opening games. The first match against South Korea ended in a 2-2 draw, and they repeated the same result against Malaysia.

Pakistan will face their arch-rival India in their final pool match on September 14, 2024, at 12:30 PM PST.

The semi-finals of the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 will be held on September 16, with the final scheduled for September 17.
