Riyad – The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) has granted final approval to Saudi Arabia’s Expo 2030 Riyadh Registration Dossier, officially confirming Riyadh as the host city and ushering in the next phase of preparations for one of the world’s largest upcoming international events. The approval was announced at the BIE General Assembly in Paris, where the World Expo flag was formally handed over to the Saudi delegation led by Eng. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, Minister of State and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC). The event marked a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s growing global profile and its ambitious Vision 2030 initiative.

Also present were Saudi Ambassador to France Fahad bin Mayouf Al-Ruwaily and other key officials. Al-Sultan thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their steadfast leadership and support in achieving this global success.

The Expo 2030 Registration Dossier, a strategic document outlining Saudi Arabia’s vision, infrastructure plans, and international goals, was approved in record time—nearly half the usual timeframe. This rapid endorsement reflects the world’s growing confidence in Saudi Arabia’s global leadership, innovation, and organizational readiness.

Following BIE’s final approval, Saudi Arabia will now begin issuing formal invitations to international participants through diplomatic channels. This unlocks the next major stage of Expo 2030 Riyadh preparations, including infrastructure, logistics, and global collaboration.

Spanning 6 million square meters, the Expo site is set to host over 40 million visitors and more than 195 nations, making it one of the largest global exhibitions ever held.

Running from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, Expo 2030 Riyadh aims to become a catalyst for global innovation, economic dialogue, and sustainable development. Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the event will showcase cutting-edge technology, inclusive growth, and the Kingdom’s role as a global connector in the 21st century.
