Rohatas Fort Museum Reopens for Public After Renovation

The Directorate General of Archaeology Punjab has reopened the Rohatas Fort Museum to the public following extensive renovations and improvements. This initiative aligns with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision to preserve Punjab’s rich heritage and make historical sites accessible to everyone. Under her leadership, the museum now offers visitors an enriched experience of the cultural and architectural significance of Rohatas Fort, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Zahid Abbas Malik, the Director General of Archaeology, oversaw the renovation efforts, with Deputy Director Iqbal Khan supervising the maintenance and restoration work. Entry to the museum is free for all visitors, who can now enjoy modern exhibitions showcasing rare archaeological artifacts, enhancing their overall experience. This reopening is part of the Punjab government’s broader strategy to promote heritage tourism and highlight Pakistan’s historical treasures.
