Romania Expands Diplomatic Presence in Pakistan with New Honorary Consulate in Peshawar

In a major step towards enhancing bilateral relations, Romania has inaugurated an Honorary Consulate in Peshawar, marking a significant milestone in its diplomatic presence in Pakistan. The newly established consulate will serve the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) region, fostering greater cooperation in trade, education, technology, and tourism.

The Honorary Consulate was officially inaugurated by Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Dan Stoenescu, in a ceremony attended by government officials, business leaders, and distinguished guests. The event highlighted Romania’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties with Pakistan.

Masood Ahmad Qazi, who has been appointed as the Honorary Consul of Romania in Peshawar, expressed his dedication to facilitating business cooperation, higher education exchanges, and cultural partnerships between the two nations.

The new consulate is expected to play a vital role in enhancing diplomatic and business interactions between Romania and Pakistan. It will:
✔ Support Romanian companies seeking investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
✔ Assist Pakistani businesses in exploring markets and trade avenues in Romania.
✔ Promote educational exchanges and scholarship programs for Pakistani students.
✔ Encourage technological collaborations and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Dan Stoenescu emphasized Romania’s vision for deepening economic and cultural cooperation with Pakistan. He highlighted the potential for increased trade and investment, particularly in the energy, infrastructure, and information technology sectors.

The establishment of the Honorary Consulate in Peshawar marks a new chapter in Romania-Pakistan relations, reinforcing mutual efforts to enhance people-to-people connections, business collaborations, and diplomatic engagement. This initiative is seen as a pivotal step in fostering long-term cooperation between the two nations.

With growing trade and diplomatic interactions, Romania and Pakistan are set to expand their bilateral ties, unlocking new opportunities for economic and cultural exchange.
