Romanian Embassy and PNCA Introduce Opera Singing Courses in Islamabad

In a landmark cultural initiative, the Embassy of Romania, in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), is set to launch opera singing courses in Islamabad. The program will commence on April 9, 2025, offering a unique platform for aspiring vocalists to explore the classical art of opera.

Renowned Romanian soprano Georgiana Costea-Gluga will lead the training sessions, scheduled twice a week—Wednesdays and Fridays—from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at PNCA’s premises in F-5/1, Islamabad. The courses are open to individuals aged 14 and above, with specialized training for younger participants focusing on basic vocal techniques.

The initiative aims to promote Romanian culture while fostering an artistic exchange between the two nations. Under Ms. Costea-Gluga’s mentorship, participants will learn classical vocal techniques, stage presence, and operatic expressions, equipping them with skills essential for grand theatrical productions.

Established in 1973, PNCA remains a leading institution for cultural enrichment in Pakistan. This program aligns with its mission to enhance artistic endeavors in both visual and performing arts. The Romanian Embassy’s canto classes further strengthen bilateral cultural ties, offering Pakistani students insight into Romania’s rich musical heritage and the operatic world.
