Russia Blames US Policies for Escalating Middle East Crisis

Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, has blamed the United States for the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, calling its policies “disastrous” and a major contributing factor to the region’s instability.

During a UN Security Council session, Nebenzya stated that the crisis has not emerged suddenly but is a direct result of long-standing US-backed military operations in the region. He particularly pointed to Washington’s unwavering support for Israel’s military actions, which he claims have exacerbated tensions.

“These issues did not arise in isolation. They are the result of unprecedented Israeli military operations, with its leadership openly speaking of a war on seven fronts,” Nebenzya said. “Until recently, these operations had the full diplomatic and military support of Washington, whose reckless policies have plunged the entire Middle East into turmoil, affecting civilians and even peacekeeping forces.”

His comments come at a time of heightened conflict, with Israel engaged in multiple military offensives while tensions escalate with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. The broader geopolitical situation remains fragile, with concerns over Iran’s involvement and continued clashes across various fronts.

Russia has consistently opposed unilateral military actions in the Middle East, advocating for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions. Moscow has also criticized Western nations for what it sees as selective approaches to conflicts, arguing that US policies have fueled instability rather than fostering peace.

As the situation unfolds, calls for an international diplomatic resolution are growing. However, with no immediate signs of de-escalation, the Middle East remains a focal point of global political and security concerns.
