Russia Claims Capture of Two More Ukrainian Villages
Russia has announced the capture of two more villages in Ukraine as its military offensive intensifies. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, troops have taken control of Shchebraki in the Zaporizhzhia region and Panteleimonivka in the Donetsk region.
Meanwhile, Ukraine faced a massive drone assault, with over 170 drones launched overnight. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed strikes on multiple regions, including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Khmelnytskyi. A hotel complex in Dnipro was hit, leaving four dead and 21 injured, including a pregnant woman.
Zelensky condemned Russia’s actions, stating that Moscow continues to sabotage peace efforts while spreading terror. The ongoing violence comes as the U.S. pushes for a ceasefire agreement, but both Kyiv and Moscow accuse each other of undermining negotiations.
Adding to the diplomatic strain, Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed a UN-supervised transitional administration for Ukraine, a move that would likely require Zelensky’s removal. The proposal has sparked further tensions, with Ukraine rejecting any settlement that compromises its sovereignty.
As fighting escalates and diplomatic efforts remain uncertain, the conflict continues to take a heavy toll on Ukraine’s infrastructure and civilians.
