Russian Ambassador Honors MNA Sehar Kamran for Advancing Pak-Russia Relations
In recognition of her outstanding efforts to enhance bilateral ties between Pakistan and Russia, Sehar Kamran, a Member of the National Assembly (MNA), was awarded a Memento of Appreciation by Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert P. Khorev. The ceremony, held at the Russian Embassy in Islamabad, highlighted Kamran’s consistent contributions to strengthening the diplomatic relationship between the two nations.
MNA Sehar Kamran has been an influential advocate for Pakistan-Russia relations, participating in key international forums such as the Sochi Forum, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the BRICS Women Congress. Her involvement in these events has significantly advanced the diplomatic and economic ties between the countries. Additionally, Kamran has played a central role in promoting dialogue and cooperation on global platforms.
In 2018, her relentless work towards fostering bilateral ties was recognized by the Russian Federation when she was awarded the “Award of Cooperation” by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This accolade underscored her tireless efforts in strengthening diplomatic relations.
Known for her extensive contributions to philanthropy, education, and social work, Kamran has also been a key player in promoting stronger relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
A senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Sehar Kamran served as a senator from 2012 to 2018 and is currently the patron-in-chief of the Centre for Pakistan and Gulf Studies (CPGS). Throughout her career, she has been an active author and researcher, writing extensively on Pakistan-Russia relations, Pakistan-Saudi relations, and other international diplomatic matters. Her research papers and articles are frequently featured in prominent national and international publications.
